Hello! My name is Ivy Chiou, and I’m a multilingual global communications, public relations and integrated marketing professional based in Manhattan with over a decade of experience spanning the tech, hospitality, F&B, architecture/design, destination tourism, commercial real estate and proptech sectors. My belief: having the right PR pro = crucial for every company because we are a stealthy, powerhouse combo of your biggest brand ambassador (and subsequent salesperson) + business development and reputation management function.
I specialize in external communications, media relations and executive thought leadership. I am also well-versed in internal + crisis communications, industry event planning, and am a huge language, grammar and copywriting enthusiast.
Currently, I am the director of media relations & PR at Samsung Electronics America.
Before Samsung, I led PR efforts at Too Good To Go, the app powering the world’s #1 marketplace for surplus food. It connects people with the delicious, unsold surplus food at the end of each business day from restaurants, cafes and grocery stores that would otherwise have been thrown away - all at 1/3 the retail price. I was so proud to have been a part of the B-Corp’s official launch in the U.S., as well as the national expansion.
Previously, I managed global PR and growth efforts at Knotel, a flexible workspace platform that bridged the commercial real estate & tech industries. I loved being a part of Knotel’s global expansion, and leading press initiatives for a portfolio of over 4 million square feet in 200+ locations worldwide.
Before that, I worked at Quinn PR (named one of America’s Best PR Firms by Forbes), and was lucky enough to explore the world with amazing journalists on press trips that took us to the far corners of Thailand, family-friendly water park hotels in the Poconos, and lush coastlines of Hawaii and the Caribbean.
